Principal's Update

Dear students and families,

As we get closer to Spring Break and the final quarter of the 2024-2025 school year, I want to remind everyone to stay focused and committed to success!

Senior families:  Please watch for upcoming emails containing information about end-of-year behavioral expectations, as well as timeline reminders for prom and graduation. We reviewed all of these details with seniors earlier this week; the slides and timelines you will receive should serve as a helpful reminder.

For all students and families: We're seeing a sharp rise in tardies and absences at the start of the school day (1st and 4th periods). This is significantly impacting academic performance in those classes compared to students in the same classes at different times. Students cannot learn effectively when they miss the instruction that happens at the beginning of class. Additionally, this is disruptive to students who are on time.

Parents/families: We need your help ensuring that students are in class and ready to learn by 8:30 AM.  Please anticipate that drop-off lanes will be busy every morning and traffic may be congested; plan to arrive early to avoid delays. If your teen is struggling with waking up early, consider enforcing an earlier bedtime and limiting screen/phone access overnight.

When we return from Spring Break, students who are chronically late or absent will lose their free period (or after-school time for students without a free period) and make up their time in a mandatory study hall/detention. It is crucial to teach students the importance of punctuality and presence; we appreciate any support you can provide.

Have a great weekend, and here's to a strong finish to the year!
