WHAT WE DO
The San Rafael High School (SRHS) Music Boosters Association is a group of dedicated parents, students, and community members who work with the SRHS music teachers to support the school’s music program. The Boosters meet monthly with music teachers to discuss department updates, identify program needs, and develop strategies to address them. Raising funds for the music program is a primary focus of Boosters. Our fundraising efforts help provide enrichment opportunities and operating costs that include sheet music, equipment, instrument repair, music competition fees, coaches, accompanists, and scholarships for private instruction.

UPCOMING TRIPS
2027 Spring Break Trip to New Orleans!
During Spring Break 2027, more than 50 students from the San Rafael High School Music Program will travel to New Orleans, Louisiana, for an unforgettable musical and cultural experience. Band and orchestra students will have the opportunity to perform, participate in educational workshops led by professional musicians, and immerse themselves in the rich musical traditions of one of America's most iconic music cities. From jazz and blues to marching band culture and historic landmarks, this trip will inspire students, strengthen their musical skills, and create lasting memories while showcasing the talent of San Rafael High School's young musicians.
The Spring 2025 Trip to Southern California was an opportunity for our Jazz, Orchestra, and Wind Ensembles to display their talents at the Music in the Parks competition in Universal City. Students took a chartered bus from SRHS to the competition. The trip included a visit to the Griffith Observatory the day before the competition and an outing to Universal Studios following the competition.

DONATE FUNDS
WeAreSR supports all SRHS booster groups and partners very closely with the Music Boosters to ensure adequate funding for our music programs each year.
We’re currently raising funds for the San Rafael High School Music Program, which supports more than 100 incredible students at our Title 1 school. Right now, our biggest hope is to raise $34,000 so that every student has the chance to participate in an educational music trip to New Orleans next spring, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances. For many of these students, this would truly be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity they otherwise would not be able to experience.
We would be so grateful for any support. Donations not only help make this trip possible, but also help us continue providing instrument repairs, updated equipment and uniforms, sheet music, scholarships, private lessons, and meaningful performance opportunities that keep our music program alive and thriving for these students. Every contribution, large or small, makes a meaningful difference in helping these students succeed both in music and in life.
For general donations to the SRHS Music program:
This fund is in memory of Sean Castle, a beloved music teacher. Donations are used for students to attend special events and for scholarships in his name.
