Principal's Update

Hello students and families!

We had a busy and productive week back to school. We are fully back into the swing of things and ready to make 2025 a great year.

Students and staff participated in two important activities this week that you should be aware of:

On Wednesday, we practiced our school safety lockdown procedures. We reviewed the following slides (English Link) (Spanish Link). Our students did a great job following directions and taking the practice seriously.

On Friday, students watched the following video (English Link) (Spanish Link) which includes advice from staff on how to be successful in the new semester. Students also set a goal for themselves which we will help them monitor throughout the rest of the school year. Be sure to ask your teen what their goal are for the rest of the year.

Cheers!

Off the Leash is a digital publication created by San Rafael High School students in Lit 12 Journalism. We are excited to share their stories and ideas with all members of the school community.   That, of course, means parents, teachers, staff, neighbors, alums, board members,
administrators, and coaches as well as students. In educating stakeholders and
inspiring authentic debate, we hope this publication helps nourish our community.

Be A Champion for Empowering Young Marin Teens

Become a sponsor today

Greetings Friend of Marin Teens!

Don’t miss this opportunity to become a sponsor and supporter of the 13th Annual Marin Teen Girls Conference on March 2, 2024, at the Embassy Suites in San Rafael--a truly inspirational day for young women in Marin.

Hosted by the Marin Women’s Commission, this free event attracts over 250 teens from across the county, along with enthusiastic support from parents and the community.

The Conference is organized in tandem with Marin teen leaders as part of our Teen Ambassador Program. This means it is the only event of its kind organized by teens for teens. Last year, we welcomed hundreds of attendees who learned about everything from opening checking accounts to mental health to body positivity to career pathways. We invite you to check out our 2024 press release to see highlights from last year’s impactful program.

Sponsoring this highly anticipated event is a unique opportunity to align your brand with a cause that truly matters. We encourage you to learn more about sponsorship levels and benefits here. Donations of any size are tax-deductible and will directly support the success of this transformative event.

We so hope you will join us to support and empower our young women.

Warm regards,

Maureen Broderick

Eligible applicants can apply for a $300 SIP Student Grant, plus laptop and hotspot access.

  • Pathways is a flexible, six-week program for students to learn at their own pace with step-by-step video tutorials. Participants can explore cutting-edge topics like cybersecurity, data science, and–brand-new for 2025–responsible artificial intelligence design.

Summer Programs Office at UC Berkeley's College of Environmental Design is now accepting applications for our 2025 embARC Summer Design Academy.

This four-week program, held on the UC Berkeley campus, offers rising high school juniors and seniors with an interest in architecture and design an opportunity to immerse themselves in design studio culture and the college experience, develop a design portfolio to use for college applications, work in a team with peers who have similar interests, and earn college credit on an official UC Berkeley transcript. On-campus housing and a few need-based scholarships are also available.
