Wellness Center Resources

WHAT IS WELLNESS? The Wellness Program expands the safety net for students on campus, and is a centralized location where students are offered resources and support in the following four areas to students on campus. We are located in AD204!

  • Mental Health

  • Physical Health

  • Substance Use

  • Sexual Health Resources

COORDINATION OF SERVICES TEAM (COST): To refer a student for support please complete THIS FORM. This form will be shared with the COST team, which is composed of school counselors, admin, Special Education, a teacher representative, and Wellness team members. COST meets weekly, and collaborates and coordinates support for each student regarding behavioral, academic and/or social emotional concerns.

STUDENT SELF-REFERRAL: Students can submit a self-referral, or refer-a-friend by either scanning a QR code on posters hung on campus, coming into the Wellness Center, or by filling out THIS FORM. Ongoing services are appointment-based, and include 1:1 mental health services, support groups, as well as linkages to off-site services.

BRAIN BREAK PASS: If a student is having a tough time in your class, you may send them to the Wellness Center for a 10-15 minute "Brain Break." If a student is unable to self-regulate following that period of time, we will triage to a therapist for additional follow-up. We will inform the teacher if the student remains longer than the allotted time. Please contact the Wellness Liaison, Romisa Shakeriniasar, with questions about students that appear to be chronically absent, or may be misusing the pass system. We have also placed brain break passes in your boxes, if you need more, please feel free to email me or Romisa directly and we will get those to you.

MENTAL HEALTH CRISES: During the school day, if you have concerns about a student's safety, or safety of others based on a disclosure from a staff, student or parent, the Wellness Team will help! We will either provide or facilitate a risk or behavioral threat assessment. Please call us at x5152 (internal) to notify us, and make sure you or another staff member escort the student to the Wellness Center. If it is after-hours, please contact admin to inform about your concerns, and follow up with a call to law enforcement.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions. I am also happy to consult anytime with you about a student you may have a concern about!

Thank you again,
