HeadsUp October Newsletter!

As we're all settling into the school year, it has been so great to join the festivities at some of the sites and engage with our School Community in joyful and meaningful ways.  We had the opportunity to table at Back to School Night for San Rafael High as well as join San Pedro Elementary for their Noche de Cultura.

We would love to visit, participate, be present and support all of our sites this year and continue building community district wide! Please reach out if you'd like us to join an event, a PTO/A meeting, a coffee chat/charla, or have another creative idea for the Foundation to engage with your sites and your families.

Send an email to our Operations Manager, Tracy Peck Holcomb (tracy@headsupsr.org) or our Executive Director, Michelene Moayedi (michelene@headsupsr.org)- we'd love to hear from you!

Our 2026/27 Annual Giving Campaign is off to a great start! Your DONATION to HeadsUp ensures equitable access and funding for essential and impactful programs that will reach EVERY student across all of our San Rafael City Schools, ultimately building a stronger Community overall. Led by Schools Rule - Marin Executive Director, Melinda MacKaben, we had a wonderful opportunity to highlight the incredible spaces and services being delivered at both San Rafael and Terra Linda's wellness centers.  An enthusiastic and inquisitive group of community partners, donors, HeadsUp Foundation leaders and district administrators had the chance to tour both Centers and learn about the essential and deeply impactful work that is happening everyday at our Wellness Centers.  A huge thank you to Wellness Coordinators Judy Schwerin (at San Rafael High School), Nicole Janson (at Terra Linda High School) and the entire team for your dedication and commitment to the wellbeing of every student.  Mental Health and Wellness is a funding priority for the HeadsUp Foundation and we are proud to support these programs.

Join us for an inspiring evening celebrating the power of community and the importance of educational equity in Marin’s public schools. Schools Rule - Marin is a coalition of all the public education foundations in Marin.
