Principal's Update

Hello students and families!

Happy Friday! Last Saturday I had a ton of fun cheering on our cheer teams at the United Spirit Association competition in Fair Oaks. Let me tell you, if you’ve never attended a cheerleading competition, it really is an uplifting experience! A gym full of teams who spend hours and hours building school spirit and cheering on their football & basketball programs come together to show off their skills in a friendly and supportive competition.

I am beyond proud to share our very own Bulldogs once again brought home 1st place in the Varsity Coed Advanced NonTumbling, 1st place in the JV Novice Non Tumbling and 3rd place in Crowdleader categories. These titles qualify the team for Nationals in February.

I also want to congratulate all of our student athletes that played a fall sport this season!

Every one of our players and coaches in cross county, flag and tackle football, girls tennis, girls volleyball, and waterpolo worked so hard this year and brought great pride (and wins) to SRHS. To name a few: girls volleyball advanced to the quarter finals of the NCS playoffs by beating the number one seeded team; and JV football had a 9 and 1 record, winning the Redwood Empire Mountain Division League championship.

Thanks to everyone for your endless dedication!

Finally, if you’re looking for something to do and if you like to laugh, join us at our fall play! The Princess Bride goes on stage tonight (7:00 pm), Saturday (7:00 pm) and Sunday (2:00 pm) in the Hayes Theater! It is truly hysterical and a fun weekend activity.

Have a great weekend!

COUNSELING UPDATES

Hi SRHS Seniors,

If you are applying to the California College system, remember the UC and CSU applications are due in 38 days on December 2, 2024. As a CaliforniaColleges.edu pilot school, you can upload your San Rafael High School transcript to save time, but should manually add any courses from other schools or programs.

Be sure to check your application against your transcript for accuracy. Notably, Algebra 2 may appear with extra letters, and US History may show as a FUEL class, both of which are incorrect. If you haven't started, these should be fixed for you. Biology from 10th grade is correctly listed as “Living Earth” (new course name) — do not edit this.

For extra support:

  • Join us for Application Fridays from 3:10-4:30 PM until December 2.

  • We will add another after school application support day on Wednesdays starting November 6, again from 3:10-4:30pm until the UC/CSU deadline. Counselors will be available for drop-in support in the CCC starting next week.

  • Feel free to make an appointment with your counselor or Laura French in the CCC (lfrench@srcs.org) if you have any questions or concerns.
