Happy Friday Students and Families,
I have a three updates for you this week:
First, I want to give a shout out to Mr. Burdick and our music program. Last weekend our music ensembles performed at the Music in the Parks festival in American Canyon. Well, all of our talented musicians’ hard work shined through and the Bulldogs brought home the following distinctions:
1st Place in the AA Concert Band division (Wind Ensemble)
1st Place in the AA Orchestra division
1st Place in the AA Jazz Band division
Best Overall Concert Band
Best Overall Orchestra
Anthony Pech Castillo (10th grade) was awarded a medal for Outstanding Jazz Soloist.

Second, I am sharing this letter (link) from the San Rafael City Schools Senior Director of Strategic Facility Planning as a reminder of the exciting projects occurring on our campus beginning June 17th, 2024. SR will be under construction for a few years which will require movement of certain departments, flexibility and understanding all around. The final product of the first stage of construction brings much needed updates to our aquatics and athletics areas, and safety upgrades to the entire campus.

Third, a reminder from last week’s email. A few incidents have happened near campus in the last two weeks that have given me reason to adjust our campus supervision plan. We have contracted with a local security group (Praetorian USA) to supervise the 3rd Street parking lot for most of the school day for the remainder of the year. We are also increasing supervision throughout campus to ensure adults are visible in the halls. These precautions will provide added safety to the campus out of an abundance of caution. SRPD has also agreed to increase patrols in the area.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any safety or security concerns.
Have a great weekend!
Joe Ryan Dominguez (he/him)
