Principal's Update

Happy Friday Students and Families,

As we step into the last week just before spring break, this is a great time to make a plan to end the year strong. Map out the remaining weeks you have left and speak to your teachers on what you need to do to keep your grades up or to improve on any areas that need improvement.

Have a great weekend!

Joe Ryan Dominguez (he/him)
Principal | San Rafael High School

SBAC Testing Schedule -  4/3 & 4/5

Our 1st round of SBAC testing will be conducted on March 20th and 22nd. This will involve testing in all of our Junior and Senior advisory classes. Juniors will be taking the SBAC ELA exam and Seniors will be taking the CAST science exam over those two dates. This will be followed by our 2nd round of SBAC testing on April 3rd and April 5th. Only Juniors will be testing on these dates and they will be taking their SBAC Math exams.

All four testing dates will be extended advisory dates. The extended advisory schedule is posted below.

Spring Break 4/8-4/12th
Back Lot Procedures and Updates
The back lot near the Baseball field and Tennis Courts is closed to all cars from 9:00 pm to 6:30 am when school is in session and on weekends/holidays. The gate is also locked during the school day to prevent unapproved vehicles, secure our campus, and ensure the safety of our students and staff.
To ensure the lot remains closed in the evening, weekends and holidays, the gate will be locked after hours with a padlock that staff will not have access to. If there is a game or event on the weekend, spectators, coaches, and players will have to park in the front lot. Vehicles parked in the lot past when we close up will be locked up until re-opening. We will begin implementing this new practice on Friday, March 22.  We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Attendance Procedures
Reporting an Absence:
415-485-2335

• Please call San Rafael High School each day that your student is absent. The Attendance Office voicemail records messages 24 hours a day: 415-485- 2335 (English and Spanish).

• If you have not called, your student may also bring to the Attendance Office a guardian signed and dated note explaining their absence.

• Please try to schedule doctor or legal appointments outside of school hours.

• Please call with anticipation or send a note with your student the day of any appointment you must schedule during the school day. This gives us time to notify teachers and not disrupt class.

• College visits and religious holidays require the student and parent complete a Warranted Absence form two weeks prior to the absence. Warranted Absence forms are available online and in the Attendance office

We want your students to be successful; let's work together to make sure that all students attend school every day.
