Hello Students and families!
We are a week away from a well deserved break which I am hoping students and staff will use to rest and recharge. The fatigue of a long first semester has made us a bit loose in a few areas that I need your support with.
To name one: the amount of trash I am seeing around campus, particularly after brunch and lunch is unacceptable and pretty embarrassing. The community has invested more money and resources into making our school one of the most beautiful campuses around and we owe it to them and ourselves to keep it clean. There is absolutely no reason to leave trash out with so many bins available around the school.
[insert photos of trash after lunch here]
I expect everyone to do their part to keep SR clean and well maintained.
Last, as we approach the Holidays, I am requesting $25 gift cards to department stores (ie. Target) or Visa gift cards that we can give to identified students in need to buy gifts and/or food. If you are able to donate, please turn your gift card to the main office by December 11th. It is important that these donations be given in person so you can receive a receipt for proper accounting.

Thank you and have a great three day weekend!

Principal | San Rafael High School

Please remind your student to pick up after themselves! |
Important Student Parking Info!!! |
|
Student Parking is EXTREMELY LIMITED for the rest of the semester due to the Tree Lot set up in the Stadium Parking Lot!! Only Seniors with approved Parking Permits can park on Campus in the Front lot only where it is not indicated "STAFF". |
|
Warning Stickers have been distributed the last few weeks to help prepare! Please talk to your student and allow extra time to find parking off campus. Please remind them to be respectful to our neighbors! |
It's that time of the year again, that's right, it's Tree Lot time! Please sign up to Volunteer at our biggest fundraising event of the year. This fundraiser brings in $75,000+ a year that goes straight into Student Classes, Sports Team, Groups, Clubs and more. Please sign up and select where you want to apply your hours to. You must be prepared to show up and work the full shift that you sign up for. We work as a team and we are counting on you for support. See you out on the Lot!
Sincerely,
Your Tree Lot Co-Chairs

Reporting an Absence: 415-485-2335
• Please call San Rafael High School each day that your student is absent. The Attendance Office voicemail records messages 24 hours a day: 415-485- 2335 (English and Spanish).
• If you have not called, your student may also bring to the Attendance Office a guardian signed and dated note explaining their absence.
• Please try to schedule doctor or legal appointments outside of school hours.
• Please call with anticipation or send a note with your student the day of any appointment you must schedule during the school day. This gives us time to notify teachers and not disrupt class.
• College visits and religious holidays require the student and parent complete a Warranted Absence form two weeks prior to the absence. Warranted Absence forms are available online and in the Attendance office
We want your students to be successful; let's work together to make sure that all students attend school every day.

Students should report to class on time and bring their charged Chromebook.

Evergreen State College Representative Visit: 11/16 @ lunch
College of Marin (English presentation): 11/17 during advisory
College of Marin (Spanish presentation) 12/1 during advisory
As of today you only have 21 days to complete your UC and CSU applications for the November 30th due date. Remember that the CCC is here to help you with the applications and your essays. Every advisory the CCC hosts application workshops so please take advantage of our remaining 3 advisory workshops before applications are due (sign up on RTI). Do not wait until the last minute to submit because every year the applications glitch due to the high amount of users on the website. Every Friday from 3:10 pm to 4:10 pm the CCC has been hosting application workshops, please continue to or start attending them (this Friday we will not have a workshop due to Veterans Day, but we will host again on November 17). Below are links to schedule meetings with CCC staff who can help with your college applications and essays; feel free to schedule a one-on-one meeting with any of us for a time that works best for you (we prefer you not schedule a meeting with us during a class you currently have a low grade in).
Schedule a meeting with Ms. French Schedule a meeting with Ms. Cifuentes Schedule a meeting with Ms. Hernandez from 10,000 Degrees
As a friendly reminder, the CCC will be CLOSED on Thanksgiving Break and will not be answering emails from November 20th- 24th.
