Principal's Weekly Update

Hello Students and Families,

I hope to see you all tomorrow (4/25) at the annual Heads Up Foundation Carnival from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. The Carnival is on our campus again and we are excited to welcome the entire community to this popular fundraiser. Heads Up does so much to help maintain and support many of the programs our students take advantage of to be successful! Bring your money, bring your appetite and let’s have a fun weekend fundraising for our kiddos!

Cheers!

Library Update - Outstanding Books
Does your Senior have outstanding books to return? Look for a letter in the mail this week with a list of books that have been marked as lost. Students and parents also get a weekly email with this information, on Wednesdays from the Library. All outstanding books must be returned or paid for in order for students to receive their diploma and attend prom.
Is your student not a senior?  Please make sure your student returns their books every year so they do not pile up over the years.

Sunday Open Study Hall - Karma Club

The Karma Club is introducing a Sunday Open Study Hall, hosted by the amazing National Charity League Mission Belles, designed to give students a supportive, welcoming space to get work done and feel encouraged.

Details:

  • When: Sundays, 2:00 – 4:00 PM
  • Where: Karma Club Teen Center (Northgate Mall, San Rafael)
  • Who: Middle and high school students

Students can:

  • Bring homework, projects, or study materials
  • Get free tutoring and homework help
  • Study independently or in “homework circles” with friends
  • Enjoy a relaxed, positive environment with lots of snacks provided

This is a great option for students who need a little extra support, a productive place to focus, or simply a sense of community while getting their schoolwork done.

I’ve attached a flyer—would you be willing to share it with your students and families?

As always, everything at Karma Club is completely free. No registration is required for this event—just bring a student ID and drop in.

Athletic Boosters Needs You

WeAreSR Annual Fund
Dear SR Families
I hope this message finds you well. I’m writing to share an important update about our Annual Fund and to ask for your support.
At this point in the year, we are significantly below our fundraising goal. Fewer than 100 families—out of a community of over 1,000—have contributed so far. The Annual Fund plays a vital role in sustaining the programs that make our school experience so special, including athletics, visual arts, music, and drama. These opportunities are essential to helping our students grow, explore their talents, and thrive.
Our goal is to ensure that these enriching programs remain strong and accessible to all students. To make that possible, we truly need broad participation from our entire community
The suggested contribution is $500 per student. However, we understand that every family’s situation is different, and we sincerely appreciate gifts of any amount. Every contribution—no matter the size—makes a meaningful difference and is tax-deductible
Your support directly impacts the quality of education and opportunities we can provide. Together, we can reach our goal and continue offering the well-rounded experience our children deserve.
Thank you for being a valued part of our community and for supporting our students.
With gratitude,
Lorin Santaloci Panknin
Annual Fund Chair
