Hello students and families,

This message contains important information regarding state testing for our 11th and 12th-grade students. We will be administering the SBAC (math and English) and CAST (science) assessments on the following dates: March 25th, 27th, April 1st, and April 3rd.

While these exams do not affect a student's individual grade or graduation requirements, the effort our juniors and seniors put into these assessments is crucial for the entire San Rafael High School community and for each student's future opportunities.

These state assessments serve several vital purposes:

• College Readiness Indicators: The scores provide colleges and universities with valuable data about our school's overall performance. This data, including SBAC and CAST results, is used as a college readiness indicator, which can be a factor when evaluating equally qualified applicants from different high schools.

• School Opportunities: Accurate assessment outcomes help our community understand student learning effectively. Reliable data enables families to make informed decisions about attending SRHS, and increased enrollment leads to more classes and opportunities for all students on campus.
