Principal's Weekly Update

Hello students and families!

I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween weekend planned.

Going into next week’s Halloween spirit week, remember:

  1. Masks are not permitted. We need to be able to identify each other at all times for the safety of everyone

  2. Simulated (and actual) weapons are always prohibited. Again, safety.

  3. Culturally appropriative, stereotyping or hate driven depictions will not be tolerated. We are an inclusive and equity driven campus.

The Marin Prevention Network would like us to share the following information and safety tips on celebrating a safe and healthy Halloween.

Now that we’ve wrapped up the first quarter of the year, you can expect a progress report card mailed home in the coming days. Make sure to set some personal goals and get working on accomplishing them now! These quarter grades are a snapshot of how you are doing now but semester grades are what we place on your transcript and determine if you receive credit in a class. ACT NOW if your progress report indicates that you need some help before it is too late.

To support students who are struggling with math and academic behaviors (such as punctuality and study skills), some students may be required to stay on campus for 7th period on one or more days a week for skill-building sessions. This applies to students who do not already have a class scheduled during that time.

Affected students (and parents) will be notified by staff in the coming days. Our goal is to help all students achieve academic success and graduate.

Have a great weekend!

Bioengineering Day at UC Berkeley
UCSB is excited to extend a warm invitation to all high school students at San Rafael High to join us for Bioengineering Day at UC Berkeley, hosted by the Bioengineering Honor Society (BioEHS)! This annual event is designed to introduce students to the exciting and innovative field of bioengineering, providing them with an opportunity to explore, learn, and engage with the topic.

Event Details:
Date: Saturday, December 6th, 2025
Time: 9:30 am - 4:00 pm
Location: UC Berkeley Campus (more information about check-in location and a schedule of events will be sent out closer to the date)
Cost: FREE!

What to Expect:
1. A Day Full of Exploration: BioE Day is structured to provide students with a comprehensive experience of the world of bioengineering. The event will consist of various activities and sessions to help students answer the question, "What is Bioengineering?"

2. Hands-on Workshops:  Students will participate in interactive sessions hosted by various organizations where they will explore bioengineering principles through fun experiments and innovative projects.

3. Laboratory Tours: Get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at cutting-edge research and state-of-the-art facilities with guided laboratory tours. Students will get a glimpse of what it's like to work in a real bioengineering lab.

4. Engaging Panel Discussions: Our undergraduate panelists will share their experiences and insights, offering a glimpse into the life of a bioengineering student and answering any questions students may have. They’ll share insights about their journey, research opportunities, and the diverse career paths in this field.

5. Lunch Provided: Lunch will be provided and students will have the chance to network with their peers and current students in the Berkeley Bioengineering community.
