Principal's Update
Good Evening Bulldogs!
This weekly bulletin is sent out every Friday evening and is full of information you need for the weeks ahead. Today’s issue has nearly all of the Back to School information you need to start the year strong!

We have lots of changes and updates to our regular routines due to construction so make sure to comb through these updates carefully.

In case you missed my message from last week I am including a few key reminders:

As we established last year:

Each and every day, all students will be “Bulldog Ready” to learn. This means we expect everyone to show up prepared and engaged in their classes.

To be “Bulldog Ready” means you are on time to class with each of the following items:
  1. Something to write with (pens/pencils)
  2. Something to write on (notebook/paper)
  3. Your chromebook & Charger &
  4. Phones on the wall
Students that are not “Bulldog Ready” will be considered tardy and will be given the supplies they are missing for the day. Repeated offenses to this policy may require a parent conference and loss of privileges. We will make a minor update to how students receive missing supplies but the expectation is still the same.
Updated Cell Phone Policy:
  • Last year we introduced a new cell phone policy that expected all students to have their phones off and away during class time. We provided every classroom with a pocket carrier for students to store their phones so the temptation of checking it would be eliminated. While the updated policy worked for most of the year, we noticed a slip in consistency and an increase in phone use during hall pass breaks. To address the concerns shared by staff and to increase academic engagement we are updating our cell phone use policy:
  • Students are now required to store their phones in the phone pockets in every class and will not be permitted to use their phones while on a hall pass. Students who refuse to place their phones in the pocket carriers will have their phone locked in the main office for the day.
  • Student phone use will only be permitted during brunch, lunch and passing periods.
  • Parents/families: since students will not have access to their phones during class, urgent matters should be communicated through the main office.
While no one on our staff, including the administration, are a fan of policing phone use, we do have a responsibility of eliminating the very real addiction our devices have become. We truly want to help our students break away from the temptation of using their phones so that essential learning can happen with little interruption. The staff and I really appreciate your support in this effort.

I hope you’re excited for the first day of school on 8/21.

Sincerely,
Joe Ryan Dominguez (he/him)
Principal | San Rafael High School

Important 2024 Back-to-School Forms in the Aeries Parent Portal
Please Complete the Back-to-School Forms
Completing the Back-to-School Forms is required for each student in your family. We need your help to ensure that every student and emergency contact information is as accurate and current as possible.
  • Login to your Aeries Parent Portal account (see the links below) to complete the Back-to-School forms - this is called the Data Confirmation Process.
  • Once you’re logged in, a yellow banner will appear on the top of your screen prompting you to complete the steps. As you go through each section, look for the "Confirm and Continue" button in the sidebar.
  • This process allows you to confirm or update your child’s information and allows you to acknowledge District policies and authorizations, such as the 2024-25 Annual Notice to Parents/Guardians
    • One of the steps is for you to enter your household income and the number of people in your household. We collect this important information to ensure our District and schools continue to be eligible for increased federal and state funding for areas such staffing, supplies, programs and more. Your responses are confidential. This information helps support all SRCS students with significant funding opportunities, and your support in completing it is crucial and appreciated.
  • Please complete this process for each child who attends SRCS. There are different login portals for parents with children in grades TK-8 and 9-12.
  • You can complete this on a computer, tablet or smartphone.
  • You will have limited access to your student’s account until you have completed the Aeries Data Confirmation process.
Login Links
  • Returning Aeries Parent Portal Users: If you accessed Aeries Parent Portal last year, login with the same email and password through these links:
  • New Student Parent Portal Accounts: If you are newly enrolled to SRCS for the 2024-25 year, Parent Portal accounts are automatically generated and an email was recently sent from donotreply@aeries.com to the parent/guardian email(s). Please check your inbox or SPAM for this email and complete the steps. If your child is newly enrolled and you have not received an email from aeries.com, contact your school’s office. Once you have activated your Parent Portal account, you can login using the links below to complete the Data Confirmation Process.
Helpful Information
Please complete this for each student by Sept. 9. Thank you for your support for this important process.
