As finals, the holidays, and the end of the calendar year approaches, San Rafael City Schools' Wellness Team wants to encourage our community to mindfully reflect on how we manage stress. Across all three high school campuses, we will be posting our "Stress Curve" image, to remind students about healthy vs. unhealthy levels of stress, and methods of coping or seeking support. Additionally, the Wellness Team and other campus staff will distribute healthy snacks and other relaxation-related items like essential oils, during the 15 minute break between final exams on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Our goal is to highlight to students that when stress is high, there are supportive adults available on campus, and that they can choose healthy stress-management strategies. Here is an excerpt from a larger article on how to manage stress.
Volunteers Needed!
Volunteer and support your class, sports, or clubs. Every volunteer hour brings back to your group. No experience needed. Both students and parents are encouraged to volunteer through the volunteer link. It's a great opportunity to get to know other families and get involved int he school community.
Tree Lot Hours:
Fridays 3:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Saturdays & Sundays 9:00 am - 8:30 pm
Help us provide small holiday gifts ($30 minimum) for around 150 students by Dec 14th. To get more information or to sign up to be aprt of the "giving pack", please stop by Luida Vance's office in the counseling department, email Luisa, or call at 415-485-2396. We will also be receiving grocery gift cards to provide for some families in need. Thank you for your generosity and participation in helping spread some Bulldog holiday cheer to some of our "pups".
Fencing for the Tree Lot was put up around the Stadium Parking Lot and will remain up until Dec 20th. Because of the construction and limited parking, student parking will not be available on campus. We will send out a communication if this changes but in the meanwhile, please advise your student to carpool or park off campus. They should not be parking in staff spots.
