Stadium Project News

Thanks again to all the parents and staff who attended this past Wednesday’s Stadium Advisory Committee meeting (January 20th, 2016).

I am pleased to announce that the Stadium Committee unanimously consented to move the stadium project track and field design forward to DSA!   This is a long awaited and exciting time for San Rafael High School.

At the January 20th meeting, the committee discussed the project phasing timeline, project management structure, and next steps (see below).

  • Submit to DSA (Jan – April 2016)
  • Hire CEQA Consultant (in process)
  • Formalize Site Facility Committee (1/28/16)
  • Phase 1.5 input (Feb)
  • Finish Draft Budget and Review with Leadership (District and Site) – next week
  • Hire Project/Construction Manager – Feb 2016
  • CEQA Review – (Jan -July 2016)
  • Increment Bidding – May/June 2016
  • Inc 1 Construction – July – Nov 2016

With the passage of the Measure B, a project management team is being assembled to support District bond projects.  Last week, Sarah Schoening was hired as Program Advisor for the District. We are in the process of hiring a CEQA consultant and project manager for the Stadium Project.

Next month will be devoted to budget review, and Phase 1.5 items such as restrooms, concession, and entry design.

At our upcoming 1/28/16 Site Facilities meeting, I will provide a brief report on the 1/20 Stadium Advisory meeting and hold a discussion on the process and structure of the Stadium Advisory Committee as we move forward with the project.
