Course Selection Process

Course Selection Process

Course selections are completed on-line through the Aeries Parent Portal system.  You will need to create an Aeries Parent Portal account by using your Student ID and Verification Code that was mailed to you in January.   Please contact our office at 415-485-2337 if you require further assistance.

Students are pre-registered for their academic courses required for high school graduation and will only need to select their elective courses. Students are guarenteed 6 courses, 7 courses are granted when space is available.  Please choose courses carefully; it will be difficult to make changes in the fall. Please note that while we try to give students their first choice in the elective arena, we cannot guarantee this will occur in every instance. Therefore, a student is required to make three alternate course selections in case their first choice is not available due to scheduling issues.  Counselors will be available to meet with students to review and finalize their course selections.

Program Worksheets

Program worksheets were distributed through Advisory classes.  They are used to assist students and their families with the course selection process.  Please complete with a parent/guardian signature and return to your Advisory teacher by: February 13, 2013

The programming window for current SRHS students is open through February 15, 2013

Honors/AP Application Process

Honors Applications will be available in Late January 2013

We want our students to challenge themselves to take the most rigorous courses they believe they can manage. Students and parents should keep in mind the hours of preparation and follow through that are required for success in an advanced level course. We strongly recommend students limit their advanced coursework to no more than three (10th-12th graders) or two (9th graders) Honors or AP classes in a year.

An application for each subject area must be completed in order to be considered for placement in an Honors or AP courseTo be eligible, you must meet all the subject specific criteria for that course as it is stated on the application.

Applications are available through the Davidson or Venitia Valley Counseling Offices, as well as the private schools or they can be downloaded by clicking the below links.  SRHS must receive all completed applications by the February 1, 2013 deadline for incoming 9th graders.

 2013-2014 Application Timeline:

Current Students:

Applications are available through your current teachers in all subject areas or in the SRHS Counseling Office starting 1/24/13 and are due by 2/7/13.

Incoming Freshman:

Davidson, Venitia Valley and Private Middle School Students:

Please return your application to your current subject area teacher by 2/1/13.  Deliver the teacher recommendation portion of your application to your current subject area teacher; teachers will then forward their recommendation to the SRHS Counseling Office.
