Class of 2019 Fundraising

Fundrasing Goals

Our goals as your reps are to foster community and inclusivity while raising money for two important Senior year events, Prom and Safe and Sober Grad night.  We'll do it keeping the Fun in Fundraising (that never gets old), with parties, tree-lot sales and other events we run with our freshman class.

What is Safe and Sober Grad Night?

Most schools now have an organized event for the entire class on the night of graduation. This keeps teens “safe and sober” by entertaining them in a secured location from the evening of graduation until the early morning of the next day. Recent SR classes have held the event at Scandia, which closes to the public for the night to offer our kids its usual fun, plus other activities organized by parents.

Why do we need to raise money and how much do we need?

Senior Prom and Safe and Sober Grad Night are expensive to implement. We want to make sure that ALL students are able to attend both events at a reduced rate. Most proms, which include dinner, cost about $30,000, grad nights are also about $30,000. We need to raise at least $60,000 to keep these events affordable and accessible for all students.

How will we raise the money?

  • Donations: The school materials sent home each August contained a form for the ASB Yearbook Package. The package included the choice to donate to the class
  • Tree Lot: Each class is assigned days to staff the tree lot, earning hourly income for those shifts from the tree lot proceeds
  • Parent Sponsored Activities: Parents, together with class officers and other students, sell spirit items, plan food days, host parties, etc
